MSFS VC-118A Air Force One | 1962

MSFS VC-118A Air Force One | 1962

Payware PMDG DC-6 is needed.

This repaint shows VC-118A Air Force One 53–3240 in the year 1962. This Liftmaster with c/n 44611 was built as a VIP transport and delivered to the 1254th Air Transport Wing at Washington International Airport on December 23, 1955.

In July 1961 the 1254th ATW along with 53–3240 were relocated to Andrews AFB. The aircraft soon became President John F Kennedy’s favorite plane to transport him to the short landing strip at Hyannisport, Massachusetts or smaller airfields. Later in 1962 this VC-118A got the famous turquise/blue livery, which was designed by Jackie Kennedy (for the SAM 62-6000, a VC-137C).

President Lyndon Johnson occasionally used this aircraft, too. Today, this aircraft is on display at the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson Arizona painted in the scheme Jackie Kennedy had designed.
